HISTORY

• Columbiana County Jail opened in January 1997. 
• The full service jail has two housing units consisting of seven pods for male inmates for sentenced and non-sentenced offenders.
• The full service jail additionally consists of one post with six pods for sentenced and non-sentenced female offenders.
• CEC additionally operates a minimum security misdemeanant jail (MSJ) for sentenced non-violent misdemeanors.
• The MSJ facility has a rated capacity of 82 beds and is a converted nursing home which was operated by the county until the mid 90's when it became the misdemeanant facility.

SERVICES

• CEC provides jail/detention management services at the Columbiana County Jail.
• At the Columbiana County Jail, CEC provides GED preparation classes, alcohol/drug abuse counseling, and anger management counseling.
• The Celebrate Recovery drug education and awareness program is provided for female offenders in addition to a hobby craft program.
• A weekly religious services is provided for the inmate population and a volunteer chaplain visits the facility weekly.
• CEC provides basic medical, dental, mental health services for offenders at the Columbiana County Jail.
