Delaware Awards New Reentry Program to CEC; Company Now Has Operations in 18 States

West Caldwell, NJ August 23 -
Community Education Centers, Inc. was awarded a contract for a new program entitled "Mothers In Reentry," that brings the number of states where CEC operates to eighteen. The new reentry program represents a unique collaboration between the Delaware Department of Correction, the University of Delaware and Brandywine Counseling and Community Services to deliver an evidence-based, gender-responsive, trauma informed program tailored to the unique needs of women facing the multiple challenges of reentry when they leave prison. The new program began on July 1 and provides genders specific reentry treatment services for approximately 130 female offenders with children at several locations in New Castle County, Delaware.

"I am extremely proud of this recent award from the State of Delaware and the confidence they have shown in our company to provide reentry treatment services to incarcerated mothers. CEC is an excellent service provider and I am sure that the mother's in this program will benefit for these reentry treatment services and be given the tools to reunite their families after their release," said John J. Clancy, Chairman and CEO of CEC.

Programming will be delivered across a continuum of care from prison, to community corrections centers and at local probation offices in the state. CEC looks forward to partnering with the Delaware Department of Correction and Brandywine Counseling to advance the shared mission of reducing recidivism for the statesí female offender population.

The primary goal of Mothers In Reentry will be to provide opportunities for women to mobilize and enhance existing strengths and to access personal and community resources. Through reinforcing the offenderís positive relationships with family and pro-social supports, and helping them to reinitiate maternal bonds with children, CEC aims to be a part of not only rebuilding the lives of the women in the program, but to fortifying the bonds between mothers and their children.

Community Education Centers, Inc. (CEC) is a leading provider of offender reentry and
in-prison treatment services in America, operating in 18 states and the Commonwealth of Bermuda, with over 30,000 individuals in its daily care. CEC provides a full range of therapeutic residential and non-residential reentry services with a documented record of reducing recidivism.
