CAE opened in 1998, providing El Paso County and the State of Colorado with alternative sentencing options for convicted felons in Colorado Springs and the surrounding area. CAE’s mission is to provide residents with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a productive lifestyle prior to reintegration into the community. The facility provides a wide array of residential reentry treatment services designed to reduce recidivism and develop pro-recovery skills for residents.

CAE serves individuals transitioning from a Colorado Department of Corrections facility, and is the largest service provider in the State of Colorado for male parole violators under the CRCF Program. It also serves individuals sentenced directly from the courts of the 4th Judicial District Diversion Program. CAE provides individual assessments, individual and group counseling, substance abuse treatment, and educational services, both in-house and through community approved service providers.
