Hoffman Halls is accredited with the American Correctional Association (ACA) scoring a rating of 100% on mandatory and non-mandatory standards.
Hoffman Hall opened its doors on July 17, 2008. Designed by Community Education Centers, Inc. (CEC) in conjunction with the Philadelphia Prison System (PPS), Hoffman Hall provides residential reentry services to offenders released or diverted from prison or jail. Hoffman Hall was constructed with no public funding.
Hoffman Hall uses tested cognitive behavioral reentry treatment and helps offenders to change their criminal thinking and behaviors. The focus of Hoffman Hall is on peer-led education, which provides the social skills necessary to successfully reenter society. The treatment component at Hoffman Hall consists of individual assessments, individual and group counseling, substance abuse treatment, educational services, vocational training, skills-based training, family services, health care services, and aftercare/alumni services.
PPS refers low to medium risk sentenced offenders with drug and alcohol dependency issues.
The center currently meets all local ordinances and is properly zoned as a community corrections facility. It is located in the eastern region of the City of Philadelphia.
