Dr. Angela Mims Interviewed on New Jersey Radio Station
Roseland, NJ, Oct 23 -
Dr. Angela Mims, Treatment Director of the Women’s Program at Bo-Robinson, was interviewed on the show “In the Public Interest” on the AM radio station WIMG 1300. The interview was also aired on a local television channel in Camden, New Jersey.
“I was pleased to participate in this talk show to educate the listeners in our local area on the wide array of reentry services CEC provides at Bo-Robinson. It is very important to maintain open lines of communication with the local communities where we operate,” said Dr. Mims. Hosted by Brenda Howard, the interview lasted nearly thirty minutes. Dr. Mims provided information on the reentry services provided at Bo-Robinson, CEC’s residential treatment center in Trenton, New Jersey. The Albert M. "Bo" Robinson Education and Training Center, opened in January 1997, provides comprehensive assessments and treatment to 420 male and female offenders, including Technical Parole Violators. Residents are referred to Bo-Robinson from two sources, The New Jersey Department of Corrections and The New Jersey State Parole Board. Bo Robinson is designed to accommodate and provide specialized services to a wide range of at-risk correctional populations. While residing at Bo Robinson, residents are assessed for current risk factors for public safety concerns and recidivism. The treatment component consists of individual and group counseling, substance abuse treatment, educational services, vocational training, skills-based trainings, family services, and aftercare/alumni services. In addition, the facility provides gender-specific programming designed to help female residents address issues related to substance abuse, criminal thinking, and domestic violence
