CEC Supports National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month
Washington, Sep 5 -
Drug and alcohol addiction play a major factor in America’s growing incarcerated population. The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) reported that 68% of jail inmates reported symptoms in the year before their admission to jail that met substance dependence or abuse criteria and 16% of convicted jail inmates said that they committed their offense to get money for drugs.
During the National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month, Community Education Centers Inc. (CEC), Inc., America’s largest provider of offender reentry and in-prison treatment services, extends its support for the expansion of reentry treatment services for America’s offenders.
“It is the goal of every CEC program to provide the reentry services necessary for each offender’s successful recovery. I would like to thank all of our staff for their efforts in reaching this goal,” said John J. Clancy, Chairman and CEO of CEC.
CEC operates in 22 states and provides extensive reentry services, including comprehensive alcohol and drug treatment services, to a variety of federal, state and county offender populations. With over 21,000 individuals in our daily care, CEC proudly maintains an empirically documented record of reducing recidivism. Click Here to See CEC Recidivism Research.
“At the core of CEC’s reentry treatment model is the belief that each offender, given the proper reentry tools, has the capacity for recovery and the ability to lead a productive, law-abiding life,” said Dr. Robert Mackey, Chief Operating Officer at CEC.
