The Harbor
1405 Clinton Street, Hoboken, New Jersey
When The Harbor building was discovered in the early 1980's, it had been
a warehouse that was destroyed by fire. The structure was rebuilt into
dormitories, a kitchen and a cafeteria, and then tied into a nearby building
to provide counseling and lecture areas. The Harbor was initially opened
as a substance-abuse treatment center in 1983, but was rehabilitated to
accept inmates in October of 1994. The Harbor is approved to provide housing
and treatment to 152 male inmates, and is accredited by the American Correctional
Association. The Harbor provides residential treatment beds and a work-release
program. |
