State of Colorado Announces Intent to Award Contract to CEC to Operate 500-Bed Pre-Parole and Parole Revocation Center
ROSELAND, NJ (February 10, 2003)--The State of Colorado Department of Corrections has announced its intent to award a contract to Community Education Centers (CEC) to operate a 500-bed Pre-Parole and Parole Revocation Center in Colorado Springs.
We appreciate the confidence that the State of Colorado has shown in our company and are enthusiastic about the opportunity to partner with the Department of Corrections to provide secure correctional treatment services in a manner that supports the mission of the Department, said John J. Clancy, President and CEO of Community Education Centers.
The proposed Pre-Parole and Parole Revocation Center will provide quality assessment, treatment and corrections services that measurably benefit each referred offender and provide optimum opportunity for community reintegration.
CEC is uniquely qualified to provide the services requested by the Colorado Department of Corrections, said Mr. Clancy. We operate two facilities in New Jersey that are similar to the proposed 500-bed Pre-Parole and Parole Revocation Center, including Bo Robinson Education and Training Center, a 400-bed residential assessment and correctional treatment facility in Trenton, and Talbot Hall, a 500-bed residential assessment and correctional treatment center in Kearny.
CEC also has extensive experience treating State of Colorado offender populations at nine facilities in Colorado. CEC presently provides community corrections services to the Colorado Department of Corrections and to Community Corrections Boards within the State. This experience demonstrates our ability to respond to the local concerns and needs of offender reintegration within the State, added Mr. Clancy.
The services at the Colorado Springs Pre-Parole and Parole Revocation Center will utilize treatment modalities that employ a progressive, incentive-oriented methodology in a secure setting. Various strategic therapeutic interventions and behavior modification techniques will be used to promote and reinforce positive change.
