State of Wyoming Announces Intent to Award Contract to CEC to Operate 100-Bed Residential Therapeutic Community for Substance Abusers
ROSELAND, NJ (July 7, 2003)—The State of Wyoming Department of Corrections has announced its intent to award a contract to Community Education Centers (CEC) to operate a 100-bed secure residential Therapeutic Community (TC) treatment program in Wyoming.
“CEC looks forward to partnering with the Wyoming Department of Corrections to provide secure Therapeutic Community treatment services in a manner that supports the mission of the Department,” said John J. Clancy, President and CEO of Community Education Centers.
The proposed facility will provide quality treatment and corrections services that measurably benefit each referred offender and provide optimum opportunity for successful community re-integration. The Therapeutic Community will offer a treatment milieu that motivates and assists offenders in achieving meaningful goals.
“CEC is uniquely qualified to provide the services requested by the Wyoming Department of Corrections,” said Mr. Clancy. “On a national level, we have experience operating similar facilities in other states. In Wyoming, we operate Community Alternatives of Casper, as well as a Day Reporting Center in Casper. This wide range of both local and national experience will be used to enrich services to the participants in this Therapeutic Community program and will enhance the Wyoming DOC’s continuum of care system,” added Mr. Clancy.
Community Education Centers (CEC), a Roseland, New Jersey-based company, is a leading provider of rehabilitative services to the criminal justice population. CEC provides an array of comprehensive treatment services for adults and juveniles through its 20 locations in eight states. Services range from residential, secured treatment to work release to electronic monitoring.
