Dr. Lee Underwood
Dr. Underwood is a Clinical Psychologist and serves as the Corporate Director of Clinical Operations for Community Education Centers (CEC).� He is also a Senior Consultant with the National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice, an affiliate of Policy Research Associates (PRA) and the National GAINS Center in Delmar, New York.� Dr. Underwood has served as Executive Clinical Director of several large residential treatment facilities for adolescents with mental, behavioral and sexual disorders.� Previously, he served as Director of Clinical Services for the Ohio Department of Youth Services (ODYS), juvenile corrections. While at ODYS, Dr. Underwood assisted with developing a continuum of mental health and special program services for juveniles in institutional and parole settings, including the development of the Diagnostic and Reception Center.� In addition, he has held consulting positions with state and private agencies for program design, development, implementation and evaluation of services.
Dr. Underwood has worked closely with members of Regent University, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Juvenile Corrections Program (LSUHSCJCP), and Case Western Reserve University�s Department of Psychiatry. He also works with federal, state and national organizations including the Substance Abuse Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA), the Council of Juvenile Correctional Administrators (CJCA), the American Correctional Association (ACA), the Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), on services related to juvenile offenders.�
