Why Community Education Centers?
Community Education Centers provides sensible alternatives for government agencies looking to end the costly effects of offender recidivism and overcrowding. The experienced staff at CEC individually design each program to meet the needs of federal, state, and local agencies.
As the leading provider of treatment and education services for adult and juvenile correctional populations throughout the United States, CEC owns and operates 17 staff-secure residential facilities and five day reporting/outpatient programs, treating a total of more than 6,000 individuals in seven states.
CEC’s facilities provide a full range of therapeutic residential and non-residential correctional services which include, assessment and treatment for alcohol and drug abuse, risk assessment, job-readiness training and life-skills preparation, a family services program, and a strong Alumni Association. In addition, CEC offers a full range of juvenile treatment services, including residential and wilderness programs for at-risk youths ages 13 to 18.
Recidivism
Most importantly, CEC’s programs have been successful in reducing recidivism. An outcome research study conducted by Drexel University with the cooperation of the New Jersey Department of Corrections and published last August in Corrections Compendium, found that CEC’s New Jersey continuum of care programs reduced recidivism rates by approximately 30 percent compared with a national sample. Reentry
The successful reentry of offenders into the community has been the focus of CEC for over ten years. CEC programs are designed to provide reentry services that prepare offenders for successful reintegration into the community. The company is continually exploring opportunities to collaborate with professional researchers at well-known universities to conduct outcome research on its programs
