Liberty Hall is a state-of-the-art, 300-bed residential treatment facility that provides a specialized women’s program for Marion County offenders.
Liberty Hall is a facility with a proud history. After opening in November 2001, Liberty Hall became the first Technical Rule Violation (TRV) Center to be established in the State of Indiana. Then in October 2004, Liberty Hall entered into an agreement with the Indiana Department of Correction to provide treatment services to Level 1 Offenders referred by the Department.
Liberty Hall was recently recommended for re-accreditation by the American Correctional Association (ACA). The auditors gave the facility a score of 100% on mandatory and non-mandatory standards, which are established by ACA and serve as a benchmark for the effective operation of correctional facilities throughout the United States.
Marion County Women’s Program
The specialized female residential program serves pre-adjudicated offenders from Marion County and incorporates programming that addresses the unique needs of women, including life skills, parenting issues, and reentry preparation. The female participants also receive educational and group counseling on issues that directly relate to parenting and child development, including: understanding children’s needs, coping as a single mother, nutritional needs, infant care, shared parenting, family education, safety issues, stress management, teaching values, and encouraging self-esteem.
