Washington, Dec 2, 2003 - Essex County to Award Three-Year Contract to CEC
to Expand Services at Delaney Hall
ROSELAND, NJ (December 2, 2003)—Community Education Centers (CEC) has announced that Essex County, New Jersey intends to award a three-year contract to Delaney Hall to continue to provide services at the facility in Newark. The new contract is for a total of 300 to 600 male and female beds and is expected to result in the expansion of the existing Delaney Hall facility or the development of a new adult facility by the company. “We are pleased by the County’s decision to expand the contract with Community Education Centers. The decision is a testament to CEC’s commitment and contribution to reversing County and State prison population growth over the past several years,” said John Clancy, President/CEO of CEC. “This marks the beginning of a new expansion phase for CEC as the company seeks to accommodate the growing population that will result from this award,” added Mr. Clancy.

Under the terms of the contract, CEC will continue to provide a variety of treatments to address the needs of the referred population, including substance abuse treatment, life skills training, education, individual and group therapy, and cognitive behavioral programs. Delaney Hall offers a full continuum of care. All treatment programs are designed to prepare residents for successful re-integration into the community and all Delaney Hall staff members are trained to reinforce the treatment provided.

Delaney Hall will also continue to provide Day Treatment and electronic monitoring services through a sophisticated Global Positioning System (GPS).

Delaney Hall opened in May 2000 and currently serves Essex and Union County residents as well as State Parole Violators. The facility currently provides residential treatment and day treatment/GPS services for 790 male and female residents.
