Casper Re-Entry Center’s Therapeutic Community Featured in Wyoming NBC Affiliate Segment

Roseland, NJ, Sep 7, 2006 -  The Therapeutic Community (TC) program at the Casper Re-Entry Center (CRC) was recently featured in a segment on NBC affiliate KCWY Channel 13 in Casper, Wyoming.

The special feature on the Therapeutic Community transpired from an August 11 appearance by Jim Piro, Deputy Director of the Casper Re-Entry Center, on the NBC network affiliate. Mr. Prio was interviewed and explained the wide array of quality reentry programs offered by CEC at the Casper Re-Entry Center. As a result, the network affiliate decided to shoot a feature dedicated to CRC’s Therapeutic Community.

The TC is a 100-bed male program whose treatment concept focuses on successful community reentry. The program structure incorporates positive peer pressure in combination with comprehensive substance treatment and education. Participants in the TC are taught to develop positive lifestyles through mutual support by learning to accept both the nature of responsibility and accountability. The average length of stay in the program is 9 to 12 months.

Deputy Director Piro has worked with CEC since 1998 when he worked as a Unit Manager at Talbot Hall, CEC’s 500-bed residential treatment center in Kearny, New Jersey. He has since relocated to Casper, Wyoming where he has been instrumental in the development of CRC’s Therapeutic Community.

CRC hosted a graduation ceremony for fifteen TC residents on August 18th. Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal was the guest speaker.
