The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has informed Community Education Centers (CEC), Inc. that it intends to renew the company’s contract to provide residential reentry services to offenders at CEC’s Casper Re-Entry Center (CRC) in Casper, Wyoming. CRC is a 400-bed residential reentry facility, which opened in February 2005.
“Community Education Centers appreciates the confidence that the Federal Bureau of Prisons has shown in our company and are enthusiastic about the opportunity to continue to provide secure reentry services in a manner that supports the mission of the Bureau,” said John Clancy, President and CEO.
Federal offenders at CRC receive comprehensive reentry plans, designed to facilitate each offender’s successful return into the community. Under the terms of the proposed contract, CEC will continue to provide assessment, treatment, and work-release programs to address the needs of the BOP-referred population. The treatment programs include life skills training, educational instruction, and job skills classes.
“CEC research has shown that our cost-effective reentry services are proven to reduce recidivism. As a result, communities are made safer and taxpayers reap the benefits of reduced prison populations,” said Mr. Clancy.
Community Education Centers is the leading provider of reentry and rehabilitative services to diverse criminal justice populations in America. CEC provides a wide array of treatment services for adults and juveniles at 17 locations, treating over 6,000 clients daily. The company operates programs for county, state, and federal populations in New Jersey, Colorado, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Indiana, South Dakota, and South Carolina.
