CEC Mourns Passing of Alan Hoffman, Director of Talbot Hall

Roseland, NJ, Oct 2 -

Alan Hoffman, Director of Talbot Hall since its opening in 1998, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2006.

“We have lost a great leader and true friend. Alan was a special person in whom I and many others held in the highest regard,” said John J. Clancy, President and CEO of Community Education Centers, Inc. “Alan served as a mentor to countless employees, not only at Talbot Hall, but throughout the company. Testament to his abilities is the fact that officials from around the world traveled to Talbot Hall to learn from Alan and his staff.”

Alan was a very significant factor to CEC’s successes. During CEC’s formative years, Alan helped develop the company’s unique secure treatment model due to his intimate knowledge of facility management and security. He spearheaded teams that launched many of CEC’s secure treatment centers including The Harbor, Bo-Robinson, Tully House, Talbot Hall, and Coleman Hall. Alan’s expertise was called upon again in Colorado, where he was an instrumental part in the development of CEC’s western operations.

Alan was widely recognized as a leader in the field of corrections for his more than thirty years of experience running some of the largest and most important correctional facilities in the State of New Jersey. Before joining Mr. Clancy in 1986, Alan served the New Jersey Department of Corrections in a variety of positions, including Superintendent of Trenton State Prison.

Alan’s dedication to CEC was unparalleled and he will be greatly missed.
