Roseland, NJ, Oct 9 -  Community Education Centers (CEC), Inc. has received a notice to proceed to provide residential reentry services to 200 offenders referred from the Philadelphia Prison System (PPS) at Coleman Hall, CEC’s 500-bed treatment center in Philadelphia.

“Community Education Centers appreciates the confidence the City of Philadelphia has shown in our company. CEC looks forward to providing our quality reentry services to these offenders with the goal of reducing recidivism and ultimately overcrowding,” said John Clancy, President and CEO of CEC.

The Joseph E. Coleman Education and Training Center, known as Coleman Hall, is CEC’s residential treatment facility which provides reentry services that focus on substance abuse awareness, education, life skills, employment and community reintegration. This September, Coleman Hall received American Correctional Association (ACA) re-accreditation.

“The addition of Philadelphia offenders to Coleman Hall only serves to highlight CEC’s unique ability to provide quality and cost-effective reentry programming to different populations under the same roof,” said Dr. Robert Mackey, Chief Operating Officer of CEC.

CEC currently provides reentry services to offenders referred by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, and Bucks County. Coleman Hall also operates a mental health unit as well as the Pennsylvania Community Alternative to Prison Program (Penn CAPP). Penn CAPP provides an alternative to imprisonment for technical parole violators.
