Michelle Ryder Heads the Indiana Correctional Association's Fall Conference

Washington, Oct 10 -

Michelle Ryder, Director of Female Programs and Development at Liberty Hall, served as the Program Chair for the Indiana Correctional Association’s 2006 Fall Conference. The conference, “Scaling the Mountain to Re-Entry Following the Path to Success,” took place on October 4th through 6th in Muncie, Indiana.

“Community Education Centers is proud of Michelle Ryder’s work organizing the Indiana Correctional Association’s fall conference. The program she assembled provided insight into a wide array of valuable reentry programming,” said Dr. Robert Mackey, Chief Operating Officer of Community Education Centers.

Ms. Ryder, a ten-year member of the ICA, was appointed program chair last year and was formally elected as secretary of the association at this year’s conference. She also presented on the subject, “Methamphetamine and the Effects on Woman and Children.” Other presenters included Ron Jasniowski of The Integrity Institute; Dale Yeager of SERAPH; Frank Porporino & Liz Fabiano of T3 Associates; Silouan Green author of “Learning to Fly,” Overcoming PTSD and Addiction; and the keynote speaker Nancy Hunter-Denney who presented on the topic of “ZING! Your Life and Professional Influence.”

“The theme of this fall conference reflected the best practices in reentry programming utilized by various criminal justice agencies and programs. Indiana has been a leader, ensuring that those we serve are given the best opportunities of a seamless and successful transition back into the community,” said Ms. Ryder.

The Indiana Correctional Association develops a continuous networking process for Indiana criminal justice professionals. With the paramount desire of public safety in the correctional process, ICA achieves its mission by offering a conducive environment to its members for the interchange of ideas, dissemination of information, transfer of knowledge of the system to practical application and most importantly, the open exchange of the experiences of its members.
