Casper Re-Entry Center’s TC Featured on Major TV Network Affiliate, Again

Roseland, NJ, Oct 11, 2006 -  Lisa Graham, Director of the Casper Re-Entry Center (CRC), is hardly surprised by the recent cascade of media attention spotlighting the facility’s Therapeutic Community (TC) program.

“The TC we have here is a wonderful program. We’ve seen over one hundred men graduate from the program so far and have developed a successful Alumni Association to ensure each individual’s successful reentry. Just this August, we held a graduation ceremony that was attended by Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal,” said Ms.Graham.

Last week, an ABC affiliate station located in Casper featured CRC’s Therapeutic Community. In September, another television station, this time a NBC affiliate, also profiled the program.

CRC’s TC is a nine to twelve month, intensive, inpatient, drug and alcohol treatment program that focuses on substance abuse rehabilitation, education, and re-socialization of men exiting the criminal justice system. The program addresses criminal and addictive behaviors in order to successfully reintegrate residents back into their communities.

In September, members of CRC’s TC Alumni Association volunteered at the first annual Recovery Rocks Fest in Casper, Wyoming. The Alumni Association consists of graduates from the CRC’s TC. The festival highlighted individuals, organizations, and communities that support healthy living through recovery from substance abuse. Over 300 members of the community attended the event where TC Alumni provided setup and clean up services.

“I am extremely proud of the volunteer work of the Casper Re-Entry Center Therapeutic Community Alumni Association. To make it this far on their road to recovery is truly commendable, but to give back to the community in such a positive way makes their journey all the more rewarding,” said Jim Piro, Deputy Director at CRC.

The Casper Re-Entry Center, Community Education Centers’ Wyoming-based residential treatment center, has a total capacity of 400-beds with two separate programs under one roof. One is a 200-bed adult community corrections program and operates as a work-release program for male and female adult offenders; the other, a Therapeutic Community, operates as a secure treatment facility for up to 100 adult male offenders.
