It is the philosophy of Community Education Centers to provide a continuum of comprehensive quality managed health care services. CEC’s medical health care delivery system is built on the framework of standards including the American Correctional Association (ACA); National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC); and the American Public Health Association (APHA).
CEC has been dealing with large correctional populations since 1994, and has been providing medical services since 1983. To date, CEC provides on site comprehensive medical services, including, physicians and physician extenders, nursing and ancillary medical personnel, on site dental, pharmacy, mental health services, diagnostics, emergency and hospital services to more than 2,000 State Department of Corrections, State Parole Board offenders and Essex and Union County jail offenders at Talbot Hall, Bo Robinson, Toler Hall and Delaney Hall in the state of New Jersey. CEC also provides on site medical services to 100 offenders of the Wyoming State Department of Corrections at the Casper Re-entry Center, and oversees the medical care provided to 500 Colorado Department of Corrections offenders at Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center.
Experience in providing medical services to large correctional populations has made CEC adept at recognizing, identifying, and responding to the challenging healthcare needs of the populations we serve. This is accomplished through identified goals and objectives specific to CEC’s medical mission. This mission aims to improve healthcare quality and access by providing diverse on-site services rendered by experienced medical, dental, and nursing professionals. All staff is committed to delivering services with integrity, respect, and a commitment to working efficiently and collaboratively within the particular correctional setting.
