The Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center (CMRC) is a new, state-of-the-art 750-bed medium security facility that provides assessment, treatment, and correctional services to pre-release offenders and parole violators in Colorado. The goal of the CMRC is to work with the Colorado Department of Corrections, Division of Community Corrections and Parole to prepare each offender for an orderly transition to community placement. The program structure is designed to address issues unique to pre-release offenders with an emphasis on community stabilization, employment, relapse prevention, and preparation for supervised community living. Various strategic therapeutic interventions and behavior modification techniques are used to promote and reinforce positive change.
Programs
At CMRC cognitive, behavioral, and psycho-educational programs are utilized. Depending on a resident’s treatment needs, rehabilitation programs include medical, drug and alcohol, psychiatric, personal development, and mental health categories. Treatment may not exceed 180 days. Program include:

Assessment and treatment are on-going processes with all residents at CMRC. Our treatment team consists of professionally credentialed staff: teachers, social worker, therapists, case managers, and operational counselors who oversee security and model pro-social behaviors.
Treatment Objectives
To ultimately reduce the risk for recidivism for CMRC residents.
To adequately address criminogenic behaviors and social influences that allow for recidivism.
To reinforce pro-social and positive lifestyle habits that will assist residents in successfully transitioning upon their re-entry into the community.
Community Activities
-Over 150 volunteers have been trained to participate in the program delivery at the CMRC.
-CMRC resident choir has performed for community leaders and staff.
-Concerts at CMRC by statewide as well as nationally known professional musicians.
-Bi-monthly seminars for Veteran residents conducted by community Veterans counselors.
-Quarterly training for staff by area Social Security Administration personnel.
-Community donations of over 5 thousand books assisted in developing the CMRC Library.
-Community religious leaders provide counsel and direction for as many as 14 different practicing faith groups at CMRC.
-First correctional facility in Colorado to initiate the Prison Fellowship Aftercare Program
-CMRC has been recognized in various local, state, and national newspapers.
