HISTORY
- CEC began delivering services at Jacksonville Correctional Center on October 1, 2006.
- Treatment is offered to offenders on a voluntary basis or as ordered by the court.
- Jacksonville Correctional Center is a Level 5 Illinois Department of Corrections high minimum security facility, which opened in October of 1984 and is located on 70 acres and has 13 buildings within the facility.
SERVICES
- CEC provides substance abuse services to 70 Adult males at Jacksonville Correctional Center in a Modified Therapeutic Community setting.
- CEC provides individual assessments, treatment plans, individual and group counseling, and substance abuse educational services.
- The CEC program at Jacksonville Correctional Center is licensed by the Illinois Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse to provide Level I Adult Outpatient and Level II Intensive Outpatient services.
- Substance Abuse services are incorporated into 3 phases of treatment including Orientation, Treatment, and Relapse Prevention.
- The treatment program includes individual assessments, treatment plans, individual and group counseling and substance abuse and educational services.
- Also included are Peer-led support groups including AA and NA, which are held weekly.
- Upon completion of the CEC Program, program participants are enrolled in the New Beginnings Program, which is facilitated by IL DOC staff. The New Beginnings Program focuses on transitioning offenders for their release.
- Prior to release a Discharge Summary is developed for each program participant who includes an aftercare referral, if appropriate, in order to provide for a continuum of care and a successful transition to society.
