HISTORY
- CEC began delivering services at IYC Pere Marquette on June 1, 2005.
- IYC Pere Marquette is a Juvenile female correctional youth center which is totally dedicated to providing treatment.
- All youth incarcerated at IYC Pere Marquette are involved in treatment.
- IYC Pere Marquette is a Level 3, Illinois Department of Corrections minimum security facility, which opened in March 1963.
SERVICES
- CEC provides substance abuse services to Juvenile Females in a Modified Therapeutic Community Setting.
- The CEC program at IYC Pere Marquette is licensed by the Illinois Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse to provide Level I Adolescent Outpatient and Level II Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Services.
- The CEC program at IYC Pere Marquette incorporates 3 phases of treatment including orientation, treatment and relapse prevention.
- Prior to entering the program, all youth are assessed to determine their treatment needs.
- Included in the treatment protocol are individual assessments, treatment plans, individual and group counseling and substance abuse educational services.
- Offenders are educated on relapse prevention and provided the social skills necessary to successfully reenter society.
- In order to ensure a smooth transition to society and a continuum of discharge summaries which include aftercare referrals are prepared for all youth leaving the program.
- While in the program youth also participate in peer led self help groups including Alcoholics Anonymous.
