In-Prison Treatment

CEC takes pride in being the leading provider of in-prison treatment services in the country, providing services to government agencies that meet the highest standards of evidence-based correctional treatment. CEC has a long history of operational expertise with behind-the-walls programming in partnership with federal, state and county administrations to deliver meaningful services that give offenders the tools to transition back into society as productive law-abiding citizens.

CEC’s modified Therapeutic Community (TC) mode of treatment focuses on the Risk, Need, Responsivity Principle and emphasizes targeting criminogenic risk. It is our goal that all CEC programming held in behind the walls facilities strictly adheres to the contracted government agency’s programming requirements.

For several years CEC has partnered with esteemed universities and researchers in the field of correctional treatment to determine “what works,” allowing CEC to remain a leader in its ability to provide the latest in evidence-based practices for the correctional community. The company continues its focus on impacting recidivism reduction and remains diligent in employing current best practices the research field has to offer.

The modified TC programs in use at many facilities are peer-based programs that focus on substance abuse treatment and cognitive restructuring with checks in place from the peer group. Based on the premise of being your “brother’s/sister’s” keeper, offenders are given opportunities to learn to make positive choices and function in forums designed to be platforms for social reintegration.

At this time CEC operates in-prison treatment programming in several states and the Commonwealth of Bermuda and is able to accommodate customized requirements in programming for each government entity it is contracted with.
