ROSELAND, NJ (November 2, 2001)--Community Education Centers (CEC) has announced the opening of a new residential treatment and work release facility, known as Coleman Hall, at 3950 D Street in Philadelphia. The 300-bed facility accepted its first residents earlier this month. Coleman Hall residents are referred to the facility by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole.
"Pennsylvania officials realize that facilities such as ours make it possible to break the cycle of recidivism in our prison population by addressing the substance abuse, life training and work skills of these individuals," said John Clancy, President of CEC. "We are certain that Coleman Hall will be a source of pride, not only to our company, but to the Department of Corrections as well.
The residential programs at Coleman Hall focus on Substance Abuse Treatment and Education, Life-Skills, Employment and Community Reintegration. In addition, program participants undergo a comprehensive battery of assessments to develop an Individual Treatment Program for each offender. CEC will operate the program using a blend of correctional and clinical staff.
As it has done in the past, CEC converted an existing structure, in this case an 80,000 square foot warehouse, into a state-of-the-art correctional treatment facility.
CEC currently operates twenty-five adult and juvenile facilities in ten states that provide rehabilitative services to over 5,000 residents daily. CEC is a leading provider of privatized correctional treatment services and has over 30 years of experience in the development of effective rehabilitative programming.
