Community Education Centers, (CEC) celebrated National Correctional Officers and Employees Week (May 1-7) with an expression of gratitude to their workforce throughout all divisions of the company. CEC marked the occasion with a tradition of ceremonies, luncheons, barbecues, and gifts for employees. CEC welcomes the opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of their employees which are often performed under difficult circumstances in correctional environments. Several facilities in the CEC Corrections division planned different events on each day of the week that ranged from special treats to gift bags to celebrate Correctional Officers Week.
“We are very grateful to the service of all our employees working in our correctional facilities that do their best to keep the community we serve safe every day,” said Mike Caltabiano, Senior Vice President, CEC Corrections. “Our employees work hard to keep our facilities operating in a safe and secure manner, and we appreciate their devotion and service.”
The Fannin County Detention Center in Bonham, Texas, celebrated with a service to remember fallen correctional officers that included an honor guard, luncheon and releasing balloons. CEC staff had the privilege of being present while Bonham’s Mayor Roy V. Floyd signed a declaration to honor Correctional Workers Week. The photo and proclamation will be posted in the facility lobby for the remainder of the year. Kinney County Detention Center in Brackettville, Texas, had a BBQ luncheon with a special cake. Staff were joined by Warden John Bealefeld and Assistant Warden Juan Saucedo who took the opportunity to thank their staff for their hard work at the Kinney County facility.
In Ohio the Columbiana County Jail in Lisbon acknowledged the week with a luncheon and the gifts of CEC polo shirts. Pennsylvania’s George W. Hill Correctional Facility in Thornton had a delicious BBQ that all enjoyed.
