CMRC Deputy Director
Washington, May 9, 2005 - Community Education Centers Appoints Deputy Director of its Newest Medium Security Treatment Facility in Colorado ROSELAND, NJ (May 3, 2005)-Community Education Centers' (CEC) has announced that George Thomas will serve as Deputy Director of CEC's newest facility-the Cheyenne Mountain Re-entry Center (CMRC) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mr. Thomas has 27 years of experience in the field of corrections and is the former Assistant Warden of The GEO/Aurora Detention Center in Aurora, Colorado where he provided oversight of custody, programs, and maintenance operations.

George's high level of expertise in managing maximum security operations and developing training programs for correctional officers will be instrumental as we continue to grow our business," said John Clancy, President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining CEC, Thomas served as Emergency Preparedness Officer and Associate Warden of the United States Penitentiary in Florence, Colorado.
The Colorado Department of Corrections (DOC) awarded CEC with a five-year contract to operate a 750-bed center to provide quality assessment, treatment, and corrections services to male and female offenders. The CMRC program will utilize treatment modalities that employ a progressive, incentive-oriented methodology in a secure setting and provide optimum opportunity for community reintegretation. Various strategic therapeutic interventions and behavior modification techniques will be used to promote and reinforce positive change. Construction of the facility is nearing completion and the CMRC will open in June.
