Washington, Aug 16, 2005 - Federal Bureau of Prisons Announces Intent to Renew Contract ROSELAND, NJ (August 16, 2005)- The Federal Bureau of Prisons has informed Community Education Centers (CEC), Inc. that it intends to renew the company's contract to continue to provide transitional drug abuse treatment services to offenders under its care at CEC's Community Alternatives of Casper program (CAC). The CAC program is located in CEC's new 400-bed Casper Re-Entry facility, which opened in February 2005.
CEC was initially awarded a contract in October 2004 to provide comprehensive transitional drug abuse treatment services including assessment, individual and family counseling, mental health counseling, and medication monitoring.
The Casper Reentry Center (CRC) provides work release services to approximately 25 male and female federal offenders who are referred by the federal prison system (those clients transitioning out of prison) or from the United States Probation Office (those clients who have violated their terms of probation). Offenders typically remain in the program for an average of four months.
In May, CEC held a dedication ceremony for the Casper Re-Entry Center. Wyoming Gov. Freudenthal attended the dedication ceremony, which drew nearly two hundred state and local officials to the Casper Re-Entry Center.
