Community Education Centers Welcomes Michael G. Janus as New Deputy Director of Operations

Roseland, NJ, Apr 28, 2006 - Community Education Centers has announced that Michael G. Janus, a longtime professional with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, has been named the company's new Deputy Director of Operations.

"I am pleased to welcome Mike to our corporate team and am confident that his experience and knowledge will contribute to the company's development and growth," said John Clancy, President and CEO of CEC.

Mr. Janus will report to Dr. Robert Mackey, Chief Operating Officer of CEC.

Prior to joining CEC, Mr. Janus worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for twenty seven years. As the Bureau's first Privatization Administrator he was responsible for the operation, administration, and monitoring of eleven contract facilities with a combined inmate population of over 17,000 and an annual budget of over $350 million.

Through his tenure with the Bureau, Mr. Janus has served in positions of increasing responsibility including; Research Analyst; Chief, Office of Management Improvement and Productivity; Assistant to the Director of the Bureau of Prisons; Chief of the Program Analysis Branch, and Associate Warden of Federal Correctional Institutions in New York and Michigan.

Mr. Janus holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albany State University, a Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He is a published author with a concentration of articles in the corrections field on topics such as correctional privatization, inmate violence and security designation.
