Community Education Centers Announces New Contract with Bucks County

Roseland, NJ, Jul 28, 2006 - Bucks County Commissioners have approved a contract with Community Education Centers (CEC), Inc. to provide work-release services for 20 offenders at Coleman Hall, CEC's residential treatment center in Philadelphia.

"We appreciate the confidence Bucks County has shown in our company and are excited about this opportunity. CEC takes great pride in assisting counties in need and looks forward to providing our high quality reentry services that are proven to reduce recidivism" said John Clancy, President and CEO of CEC.

Coleman Hall is a state-of-the-art residential facility that provides community corrections services to residents referred by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. Coleman Hall has a 500-bed capacity. The facility's residential programs focus on substance abuse awareness, education, life skills, employment and community reintegration.

''If it frees up 20 beds, there are 20 people who will transfer from the jail,'' said Harris Gubernick, Director of Corrections for Bucks County. ''You'll see a reduction at the jail level.''

Coleman Hall also operates a mental health unit as well as the Pennsylvania Community Alternative to Prison Program (Penn CAPP). Penn CAPP provides an alternative to imprisonment for technical parole violators.
