CEC Staff Member Elected to Presidency of the Wyoming Counseling Association

Roseland, NJ, Aug 23, 2006 - Steve Roth, Director of the new Drug Court Program at the Casper Re-Entry Center - Community Education Centers' (CEC) 400-bed residential treatment center in Casper, Wyoming - was recently elected to the Presidency of the Wyoming Counseling Association. The Wyoming Counseling Association is comprised of licensed professional, counselors, social workers, psychologists, and mental health technicians and sponsors yearly conventions and seminars throughout Wyoming. "CEC looks to the Casper Re-Entry Center as Wyoming's premier reentry facility. Experienced professionals such as Mr. Roth only serve to enhance the quality of our reentry services, the effects of which will ultimately reduce recidivism in the State of Wyoming," said Dr. Robert Mackey, Chief Operating Officer at CEC.Mr. Roth was nominated at the Association's last convention and was informed of his election early this year. He will assume office in October, where he will oversee the planning of the 2007 convention."Not only is CEC committed to outcome-based research, but this recent election of Mr. Roth exemplifies CEC staff's dedication to both their clinical disciplines and the larger community as a whole," said Dr. Ralph Fretz, Director of Assessment and Research at CEC. Mr. Roth is a licensed professional counselor and is one of only two individuals in Wyoming to be board certified in cognitive-behavioral therapy. He is the Wyoming representative to the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists and gives seminars on Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT). He also serves as an adjunct professor of psychology at Casper College, a satellite facility of the University of Wyoming.
