Roseland, NJ, Aug 24, 2006 - Community Education Centers (CEC), Inc. announced today that Carlton Zenon, a longtime corrections professional, has been named the Director of the Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center, CEC's 750-bed residential treatment center located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Mr. Zenon began his career in corrections over thirty years ago when he worked as the Juvenile Detention Supervisor at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Home in Salem, Oregon. A native of the State of Oregon, Mr. Zenon then transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections where he served many roles. Most notably, Mr. Zenon served as the Superintendent of the Oregon State Correctional Institution (OSCI), a medium-security facility for over 1000 offenders.

"I am pleased to welcome Mr. Zenon to Community Education Centers. As CEC looks to reduce recidivism in the State of Colorado, I am certain that Mr. Zenon's strong professional experience will serve to strengthen the mission of our Western operations," said John Clancy, President and CEO of CEC.

After a long career in Oregon, Mr. Zenon crossed the Cascades and settled in the Rocky Mountain State where he served the Colorado Department of Corrections (CODOC) for over ten years. As Region I Director for the CODOC, Mr. Zenon provided administrative leadership to nine CODOC facilities and six wardens. During his tenure at the CODOC, Mr. Zenon also served as the warden of the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility and the Fort Lyon Correctional Facility, directing facility operations for over 1,500 offenders.

"This Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center represents a unique opportunity for the State of Colorado to address recidivism. I am excited about this opportunity and look forward to continuing CEC's proven treatment model geared toward each offender's successful reentry," said Mr. Zenon.

Most recently, Mr. Zenon served as the Warden of the Canon Minimum Centers, a group of three minimum-secure facilities with jurisdiction over 1200 offenders. In this role, Mr. Zenon coordinated offender programs, a Therapeutic Community, and managed the day to day operations of the facility.
