Logan Hall Recommended for ACA Accreditation
Roseland, NJ, Aug 24, 2006 - Logan Hall, CEC's 600-bed residential treatment center in Newark, New Jersey was recently recommended for accreditation and awarded a perfect score from the American Correctional Association (ACA) following a two day audit. Logan Hall scored 100% on mandatory and non-mandatory standards. The 100% score is very difficult to obtain and is uncommon in the industry. CEC now operates ten facilities that are ACA accredited - all of which have received scores of 100% on mandatory and non-mandatory standards.
"I am very proud of this accomplishment. I would like to extend my thanks to the corporate and facility staff that made this accreditation possible. To have two facilities receive accreditation in the same week is undeniable proof of the commitment and expertise of CEC employees," said John Clancy, President and CEO of CEC.
Logan Hall provides comprehensive residential reentry services to offenders referred from the New Jersey State Parole Board and Essex and Union Counties. The facility reflects CEC's unique ability to provide rehabilitative and educational services to diverse populations under the same roof.
Logan Hall opened in 2001 as the Wynona M. Lipman Education and Training Center, known as Lipman Hall, and served over 200 adolescent males with serious emotional and behavioral problems. These adolescents were referred through state and local child welfare agencies, mental health agencies and juvenile justice systems. The facility switched names and populations in 2004 in order to serve "halfway back" parolees referred by the New Jersey State Parole Board.
"Given Logan Hall's wide-ranging past, this accreditation speaks volumes to the character of our company. Joe Trabucco, Director of Logan Hall and Lucille Leslie, Deputy Director at Logan Hall, deserve special commendation for their efforts," said Mr. Clancy.
CEC's accreditation team, Tina Price, Accreditation Manager, and Savitre Bettencourt, Accreditation Coordinator, achieved another perfect score this April when ACA recommended Liberty Hall, CEC's Indianapolis-based residential treatment center, for re-accreditation with 100% scores on both mandatory and non-mandatory standards.
"We are extremely proud of our accreditation team's flawless record. The high standard of excellence they have set is unprecedented in our industry," added Mr. Clancy.
CEC is the leading provider of rehabilitative and reentry services to the criminal justice system in America. CEC's facilities provide a full range of therapeutic residential and non-residential correctional services with an empirically documented record of reducing recidivism.
