NJ DOC Approves CEC Outcome Research Study on Female Offenders

Roseland, NJ, Dec 1, 2006 - CEC announced today that the New Jersey Department of Corrections has formally approved a female offender outcome research project. CEC has recently developed a female offender database, in conjunction with Drexel University researchers. This information will be compared with a control group of female offenders.

"I would like to thank the New Jersey Department of Corrections for their support of this important outcome research study. CEC values outcome-based research as an indicator of the effectiveness of our continuum of care treatment philosophy," said Dr. Robert Mackey, Chief Operating and Clinical Officer and CEC.

In 2004, CEC conducted an outcome research study conducted with Drexel University and with the cooperation of the New Jersey Department of Corrections which found that CEC's New Jersey continuum of care programs reduced recidivism rates by approximately 30 percent compared with a national sample.
