Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center Recommended for ACA Accreditation

Roseland, NJ, May 3, 2007 - The Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center (CMRC), Colorado's largest reentry facility, was recommended today for accreditation by the American Correctional Association (ACA). CMRC scored 100% on all mandatory standards and received many compliments from the ACA evaluators.

"I am very proud of this accomplishment and would like to thank our staff who made this accreditation a reality. The Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center is a very important facility in the State of Colorado where the ultimate goal is to provide quality reentry services that reduce recidivism," said John J. Clancy, President and CEO of CEC.

CMRC's recommendation for accreditation caps an impressive two month period for CEC. This April, CEC had four facilities-Talbot Hall, The Albert M. "Bo" Robinson Education and Training Center, The Harbor, and Tully House-officially reaccredited by ACA at the Correction Accreditation Managers' Association (CAMA) conference in Covington, Kentucky. Including CMRC, CEC now maintains eleven facilities accredited by ACA.

"Having seen firsthand the efforts of our staff, I would like to congratulate each one on a job well done. CEC maintains a corporate goal of accreditation at all of our facilities-the accreditation of the Cheyenne Mountain Re-Entry Center is a great milestone towards that objective," said Dr. Robert Mackey, Chief Operating Officer at CEC.

CMRC is CEC's 750-bed reentry center that provides assessment, treatment, and correctional services to pre-release offenders and parole violators in Colorado. The goal of the CMRC is to work with the Colorado Department of Corrections, Division of Community Corrections and Parole to prepare each offender for an orderly transition to community placement.

CMRC's program structure is designed to address issues unique to pre-release offenders with an emphasis on community stabilization, employment, relapse prevention, and preparation for supervised community living. Various strategic therapeutic interventions and behavior modification techniques are used to promote and reinforce positive change.

CEC is the leading provider of reentry services to the criminal justice system in America. CEC's facilities provide a full range of therapeutic residential and non-residential correctional services with an empirically documented record of reducing recidivism.
