CEC Presents at BOP Western Regional Meeting

Roseland, NJ, Sep 10, 2007 - CEC staff Mike Janus, Director of Federal Programs, and Lisa Graham, Facility Director of the Casper Re-Entry Center, presented at the Federal Bureau of Prison's Western Regional Partnering meeting in Seattle on September 5th.

The BOP was interested in hearing about the use of innovative ways to increase or coordinate resources on behalf of clients. CEC has recently expanded the place of performance for United States Probation public law placements to the residential treatment program at the Casper Reentry Center.

At the same time, CEC is contracting with U.S. Probation for the provision of drug treatment services. This approach allows Probation officers to meet the needs of clients with critical drug programming needs without sending them back to Federal Prison. The program consists of three to six months of intensive Therapeutic Community based programming, to be followed up with placement in the work release program, based on the client's individual need.
