Mother Thanks Tully House Staff Member for Saving Son

West Caldwell, NJ, Aug 18, 2008 - A mother writes to Darryl Hooper, Director of Tully House, CEC's 340-bed residential reentry center in Newark, New Jersey, about a staff member there that saved her son's life.

Dear Tully House Director Darryl Hooper,

I am writing to you regarding one of your staff members Mrs. Wheeler. This woman is truly a dedicated person who goes above and beyond her duties at Tully House.

In particular my son contacted Mrs. Wheeler concerning a way to regain his voting rights. As busy as she is with her other residents, Mrs. Wheeler took time out of her busy day to help my son accomplish this.

I cannot say enough about Mrs. Wheeler. She is an angel and I thank God there are people like her out here who will look beyond a persons faults and find good. She understands that people make mistakes and are not perfect and everyone deserves a second chance.

Thanks to her my son can vote in Presidential Elections in November for the first time in four years.

A lot has happened with my son since he left Tully House most of it good. He is currently employed and helping to raise his five year old daughter and because of people like Mrs. Wheeler he now believes in himself and the possibility of brighter future.

In closing, Mr. Hooper, I wish to thank Mrs. Wheeler for not giving up on my son and for helping him even though she didn't have to. I include her in my prayers every night.

Thank you,

Mom
