CEC Assists Texas County with Hurricane Gustav Evacuated Offenders

Washington, Aug 30, 2008 - The I.A.H Secure Adult Detention Facility, located in Livingston, Texas lent a helping hand to Orange County, Texas during Hurricane Gustav by providing temporary detention services to 165 inmates. The offenders were transported by Orange County to the CEC-managed facility on Saturday August 30.

"I would like to thank our exceptional operations staff who on very short notice were able to accommodate these inmates from Orange County. The temporary assistance provided by CEC staff went seamlessly and speaks to the operational excellence we maintain companywide," said George Vose, Senior Vice President for Operations at CEC.

CEC Secure Division focuses on protecting the public and offering rehabilitative services for eligible offenders. Efforts are being made to increase the availability of rehabilitative programs utilizing correctional best practices.
