CEC Commences Operation of 776-Bed Jail Management Contract
West Caldwell, NJ, Sep 1, 2008 - Community Education Centers, Inc. (CEC) was awarded a contract to provide jail management services at the 776-bed Johnson County Jail in Cleburne, Texas. Operations began on September 1 and the award increases CEC's Secure Facilities Division to sixteen facilities with a combined capacity of over 7,500-beds.

Comprehensive management of mid-sized, county and regional jails is a strategic focus of CEC. In Texas, Ohio and Arizona, CEC now operates a total of sixteen jail and detention facilities. Offenders housed for local, county, state and federal jurisdictions, including the US Marshals Service, the Bureau of Prisons, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
"The facility is currently occupied by 486 Johnson County offenders. We will assess the needs of our federal, state and county clients for the remaining beds," added Peter Argeropulos, Senior Vice President of Business Development at CEC.

CEC's administrators provide the contracting jurisdiction with all-inclusive institutional services and a broad range of programming options - all to standards that are among the most exacting in the profession. CEC Secure Division focuses on protecting the public and offering rehabilitative services for eligible offenders. Efforts are being made to increase the availability of rehabilitative programs utilizing correctional best practices.
