IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility Recommended for ACA Accreditation
West Caldwell, NJ, Feb 12 - The IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility in Livingston, Texas was recommended for American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation on February 11. The 1052-bed detention center is the first CEC facility to be recommended for accreditation under the Adult Local Detention Facilities (ALDF) standards. IAH scored a perfect 100% on mandatory standards and a 99.3% on non-mandatory standards.
"The outstanding results of this ACA audit are testament to the efforts of the accreditation team and IAH staff. I would like to thank everyone for all of their efforts," said Tina Price, ACA Accreditation Manager.
IAH is the first facility from the company's Secure Facilities Division to be recommended for ACA accreditation. 98% of the CEC's residential reentry facilities have scored 100% on all mandatory and non-mandatory ACA standards, a record that is unmatched in the industry and demonstrative of the company's commitment to a safe environment for our communities, staff, and offenders.
The accreditation team consisted of IAH Warden Eugene Harbin, Anne Locke, Deputy Accreditation Manager at CEC, Michelle Cofin, ACA Manager at IAH, and Lisa Nichols, ACA Assistant at IAH who all worked tirelessly to achieve this goal. An added challenge to the ACA audit developed when the Texas Commission of Jail Standards (TCJS) arrived for their unannounced annual audit on the same day. Rising to the challenge, IAH received zero deficiencies, or a perfect score, on the TCJS audit.
