Delaney Hall Commended After NJ DOC Audit
West Caldwell, NJ, Feb 26 - Delaney Hall, CEC's 1196-bed residential reentry center in Newark, New Jersey, was commended after a recent audit by The New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJ DOC) Office of County Services. The three day audit consisted of a policy and documentation review, physical plant inspection and verification of processes. The four-person NJ DOC team conducted the audit from Feb 17-19.
"As the NJ DOC auditors confirmed, Delaney Hall is a safe and secure facility. I would like to thank the staff of Delaney Hall for their excellent work during this audit," said Tina Price, Accreditation Manager at CEC.
Auditors commended Delaney Hall on the cleanliness of the facility and the quality of records. Ms. Price gave special mention to Lanier Walton, Accreditation Manager at Delaney Hall and Valeria Johnson, Unit Manager at Logan Hall who put in countless hours and effort in order to accomplish this goal.
Delaney Hall provides housing and treatment to male and female residents from Essex and Union counties and the New Jersey State Parole Board. Lecture halls, counseling and group rooms, a kitchen, a cafeteria, and dormitories are housed within the facility.
The program provides a true continuum of care to successfully integrate former inmates back into their home communities. Delaney Hall provides substance abuse treatment, life skills training, conflict resolution and anger management treatment, individual, group, and family counseling, educational remediation, changes in criminal thinking, aftercare counseling, risk and psychological assessments, and alumni services.
Delaney Hall also provides gender-specific treatment services through its women's program. This program addresses the unique needs of female offenders, including parenting issues and domestic abuse, as well as reasons for substance abuse.
