NJ DOC Auditors Impressed With Logan Hall
West Caldwell, NJ, Apr 17 - Logan Hall, CEC's 600-bed residential reentry center in Newark, New Jersey, passed a recent audit by The New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJ DOC) Office of County Services. All CEC facilities that house county residents will be held to standards developed by the Office of County Services and will be audited annually. The three day audit consisted of a policy and documentation review, physical plant inspection and verification of processes. The four-person NJ DOC team conducted the audit from April 13-14.
"I would like to thank the staff at Logan Hall for their efforts during this recent audit. The outcome confirms that Logan Hall is clean and orderly facility," said Tina Price, Accreditation Manager at CEC.
Logan Hall, also accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA), opened in July 2004 and provides rehabilitation services to 600 male and female residents. This population consists of Union County, Technical Parole Violators and Federal Bureau of Prisons' residents. The Federal and Parole programs are work release programs. The Federal program includes those from the United States Probationers, Federal Court Commitments and U.S. Pretrial Service.
Logan Hall residents participate in life skills counseling, health and wellness training, vocational/job readiness programs, substance abuse treatment, bi-weekly individualized counseling, educational and GED preparation, and case management. Program planning is also offered to assist in securing a successful reintegration into society. The goals of Logan Hall are to reduce recidivism and accomplish successful transitions to community living.
