Trenton-Based Bo Robinson Undergoes NJ DOC Audit

West Caldwell, NJ, Jun 4 - The Albert M. "Bo" Robinson Education and Training Center, CEC's 900-bed residential reentry center in Trenton, New Jersey was audited by a 4 person team from the New Jersey Department of Corrections Office of County Services on June 1-2, 2009. The audit consisted of policy review, documentation review and a physical plant inspection. The NJ DOC standards are similar to American Correctional Association Standards and range from resident rights and health services to safety and security.

The auditors reviewed policies and documentation and completed a full physical plant inspection. The audit team examined Bo Robinson's personnel, training, sanitation, inmate clothing and living conditions, inmate rights, emergency plans, security and control, disciplinary, admissions, access to library and courts, visits, classification, mail, drug and alcohol counseling, recreation work program, medical and dental, food services, and education services.

The Albert M. "Bo" Robinson Assessment & Treatment Center opened in January 1997 and has a capacity for 900 male and female residents from the New Jersey Department of Corrections, Mercer County, Gloucester County, and New Jersey State Parole Board. Bo Robinson is ACA accredited. Through lectures and individual and group formats reentry treatment and assessment services are delivered addressing criminal conduct, substance abuse, life skills, and education.

The female population enjoys a gender responsive curriculum. Additional services provided are educational, spiritual, alumni, a library and law library, resource center, and recreation.
