CEC Alumni Appear on News 12 New Jersey Program "In Our Schools"
West Caldwell, NJ, Aug 7 - Arthur Townes, Director of the CEC Alumni Association, and two CEC Alumni, Jeannette Thomas and Venson Swanson, filmed an edition of News 12 NJ's '12 In Our Schools' at the channels headquarters in Edison, New Jersey on August 6. Hosted by Byran Jenkins, the half hour show focused on the work the CEC Alumni Association is doing to positively change the lives of ex-offenders and the supports services the Alumni Association provides after release.
"It was a great experience to appear on the 'In Our Schools' to share the great work the Alumni Association is doing throughout New Jersey and the country. As we continue to expand, our services will reach more ex-offenders to assist them with community reentry," said Arthur Townes.
The CEC Alumni Association assists offenders in their transition from treatment back into the community through the provision of supportive services as they face the obstacles and difficulties associated with remaining pro-social members of their families and community. The Alumni Association is comprised of former offenders who have successfully completed a CEC program. The Alumni Association remains very active in the community through local service projects at churches and also speaking engagements with at risk youths.
