Albert M. Bo Robinson Assessment and Treatment Center Recommended for American Correctional Association Reaccreditation with Perfect 100% Score
Washington, Nov 3, 2009 - Community Education Centers, Inc.'s (CEC) Albert M. Bo Robinson Assessment and Treatment Center in Trenton, New Jersey was recommended for American Correctional Association (ACA) Adult Community Residential Services (ACRS) reaccreditation after a two day audit. CEC operates sixteen community-based reentry programs with ACRS accreditation all of which have scored 100% on all mandatory and non-mandatory standards, a record that is unprecedented in the industry. Bo Robinson will receive its official reaccreditation in May 2010 at the ACA Correctional Accreditation Managers Association Conference.

ACA accreditation is a measure of a facility's safety and its quality of operations and this perfect score is testament to Bo Robinson's commitment to both," said Dr. Robert Mackey, Senior Vice President at CEC.
The Albert M. Bo Robinson Assessment & Treatment Center opened in January 1997 and has the capacity to serve 850 male and female residents. Reentry treatment services are provided at the facility for the New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC), New Jersey State Parole Board (NJSPB), and Mercer and Gloucester Counties. Bo Robinson serves the NJDOC as an assessment center and gathers information about residents to determine their current risk of recidivism, treatment needs, and suitability for placement in community work release programs. New Jersey State Parole Board programs at Bo Robinson include Stages to Enhance Parolee Success (STEPS) and the Reentry Substance Abuse Program (RESAP).
Reentry treatment services are delivered through lectures and group formats and include topics such as criminal conduct, substance abuse treatment, "Thinking for a Change", anger management, Design for Living, "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People", relapse prevention, smoking cessation, and 12-Step programs. Residents also receive educational services, life skills training, a family services program and Alumni Association aftercare services. Bo Robinson's female population receives gender-specific services designed to meet the special needs of female offenders. The facility is also noted for its community involvement whereas supervised residents work with the town, painting and cleaning public areas.

The ACA accreditation program is a professional peer review process based on national standards that have evolved since the founding of the Association in 1870. The standards were developed by national leaders from the field of corrections, law, architecture, health care, and other groups who are interested in sound correctional management.
ACA standards address services, programs, and operations essential to effective correctional management. Through accreditation, an agency is able to maintain a balance between protecting the public and providing an environment that safeguards the life, health, and safety of staff and offenders. Standards set by ACA reflect practical up-to-date policies and procedures and function as a management tool for agencies and facilities throughout the world.
