CEC Leads Nation with Facility Accreditation Record
West Caldwell, NJ May 31 -
A foundation of Community Education Centers' (CEC) mission is to evaluate the facilities and programs the company operates to assess their quality and effectiveness. This dedication to quality operations found 2011 to be a banner year for CEC. Corrections Today magazine has reported that among both private and public correctional organizations, CEC lead the way with seven facilities scoring a perfect 100% on American Correctional Association Standards (ACA) facility audits. ACA accreditation standards are nationally recognized benchmarks that measure the quality of a facilities safety and security, operations, and management.
"I am not surprised that CEC lead the nation scoring 100% on its facility's ACA audits. Our staff across the country are dedicated to providing the best level of service and the highest quality operations that meet and exceed the requirements of our contracting agencies. I would like to thank our corporate accreditation staff and each accredited facility's staff for the hard work and dedication they show on a daily basis," said Dr. Robert Mackey, Senior Vice President for Clinical Services, Quality Assurance, and Research.
The survey included all public and private facilities that were accredited by the American Correctional Association during the period ending in December 2011. All seven CEC facilities that were audited by the ACA earned the perfect score of 100% under Adult Community Residential Services standards. The facilities are:
- Alle Kiski Pavilion, Arnold, PA
- Arapahoe County Residential Center, Littleton, CO
- Casper Hall, Casper, WY
- Casper Re-Entry Center, Casper WY
- Community Alternatives of El Paso County, Colorado Springs, CO
- Penn Pavilion, New Brighton, PA
- Tooley Hall, Denver, CO
The CACA accreditation program is a professional peer review process based on national standards that have evolved since the founding of the Association in 1870. The standards were developed by national leaders from the field of corrections, law, architecture, health care, and other groups who are interested in sound correctional management.
ACA standards address services, programs, and operations essential to effective correctional management. Through accreditation, an agency is able to maintain a balance between protecting the public and providing an environment that safeguards the life, health, and safety of staff and offenders. Standards set by ACA reflect practical up-to-date policies and procedures and function as a management tool for agencies and facilities throughout the world.
