Logan Hall and Delaney Hall Recommended for
ACA Reaccreditation

West Caldwell, NJ August 20 -
Logan Hall, Community Education Centers, Inc.'s (CEC), residential reentry center in Newark, New Jersey and Delaney Hall were recommended for American Correctional Association (ACA) reaccreditation and each were awarded a perfect score following two day comprehensive audits from teams of ACA auditors. The facilities each scored 100% on mandatory and non-mandatory Adult Community Residential Services (ACRS) standards, matching the same outcomes of their 2009 ACA audits and will receive their official reaccreditations in January 2013 at the association's winter conference in Houston, Texas.

"I am very proud of this accomplishment and would like to extend my thanks to all the CEC staff including that made these accreditations possible. CEC's excellent track record is testament to our staffís dedication to quality operations," said Dr. Robert Mackey, Senior Vice President at CEC.

Logan Hall opened in July 2004 and was designed to accommodate a wide range of at-risk correctional populations. Residents participate in life skills counseling, health and wellness training, vocational/job readiness programs, substance abuse treatment, bi-weekly individualized counseling, educational and GED preparation, and case management. Program planning is also offered to assist in securing a successful reintegration into society. The goals of Logan Hall are to reduce recidivism and accomplish successful transitions to community living.

Delaney Hall opened in 2000 and currently provides residential reentry treatment services for several referring sources, offering a unique rehabilitation program designed to reduce offender recidivism instead of simply providing detention. The treatment program at Delaney Hall includes the following components: treatment planning, individual and group counseling, didactic lectures, cognitive-behavioral treatment, substance abuse treatment, life skills, family services, gender-responsive programming, aftercare planning, and an alumni association.

Delaney Hall also maintains a very active Alumni Association that provides aftercare services to ex-offenders including housing and employment referrals, continued substance abuse and alcohol treatment, and mentorship. The Family Services program at Delaney Hall serves to reunite residents with their families through controlled and therapeutic settings and activities.

"Having seen firsthand the efforts of our staff, I would like to congratulate each one on a job well done," said Tina Price, Accreditation Manager at CEC.

The ACA accreditation program is a professional peer review process based on national standards that have evolved since the founding of the Association in 1870. The standards were developed by national leaders from the field of corrections, law, architecture, health care, and other groups who are interested in sound correctional management.

ACA standards address services, programs, and operations essential to effective correctional management. Through accreditation, an agency is able to maintain a balance between protecting the public and providing an environment that safeguards the life, health, and safety of staff and offenders. Standards set by ACA reflect practical up-to-date policies and procedures and function as a management tool for agencies and facilities throughout the world.

Community Education Centers, Inc. (CEC) is a leading provider of offender reentry and
in-prison treatment services in America, operating in 18 states and the Commonwealth of Bermuda, with over 30,000 individuals in its daily care. CEC provides a full range of therapeutic residential and non-residential reentry services with a documented record of reducing recidivism.
