“CEC Walking Warriors” Volunteer In Fight Against Cancer

West Caldwell, NJ May 8 -
The Kinney County Detention Center (KCDC) in Brackettville, Texas, was a proud supporter of the Relay for Life event that took place in late April to raise funds for the American Cancer Society (ACS). The team from KCDC named the “CEC Walking Warriors” volunteered and raised $927 in the fight against cancer.

“We are very honored to have such a dedicated staff that worked so hard at the annual Relay for Life event,” said Warden John Bealefeld. “I am so proud of their commitment and determined effort they put forth for this great cause and on a daily basis at the Kinney County Detention Center.”

The CEC Warriors relay team included Warden John Bealefeld; Team Captain Zandra Negrete, Business Manager; Team Co-Captain Raquel Earwood, Human Resources; Capt. Campos, Shift Captain Days/B Card, Sgt. Carrillo, Intake/Transport; Laura Juarez, Intake Assistant; Claudia Pacheco, Compliance Officer; and Jessica Garza, Admin/Receptionist.

Warden Bealefeld even participated in a twist dance contest and won an award. The event was held at Tigers Stadium in Brackettville and resulted in Kinney County raising $19,000 for ACS.
