Logan Hall Introduces Women’s Enrichment Program

West Caldwell, NJ January 26 -

Lives of crime and drug addiction are meeting their end at Logan Hall, a residential reentry facility in Newark, New Jersey.  Female residents can now take part in an enrichment program designed to empower women through rehabilitation, education and reentry treatment.  To mark the program, a facility event was held in December called “Women Who Matter,” that was attended by staff and family and highlighted the enrichment program’s message of recognizing the crucial role women play in their families.

“We are so proud to see our female residents have an increased desire to advance their education and become open to a new outlook on life,” said Lucille Leslie, Director at Logan Hall. “The Women’s Enrichment program is extremely valuable for women as a means to recognizing their worth and belief in ability.”

The Enrichment program focuses on increasing access to education and utilizesthe traditional classroom teaching method. Residents and family services staff work hard to improve basic educational skills and the program is yielding positive results.

“To watch our women challenge themselves by entering group reading at a third grade level and excel to a seventh grade level is rewarding to be part of as a facilitator,” said Tyeisha Reaves, Program Counselor. “Our women now realize that it’s never too late to learn how to read and write.”

Logan Hall is pleased to include the Women’s Enrichment program as part of the many reentry treatment services provided at the facility. Logan Hall continues its commitment to educational advancement, and the enrichment program will complement the facility’s successful record in GED achievements amongst its male and female residents.
