Staff Recognized by Alumni Association

West Caldwell, NJ March 18 -

The CEC Alumni Association honored several staff members with Abdus Salaam Logan Certificates of Recognition at the monthly alumni meeting at Talbot Hall in Kearny, New Jersey last month. The certificate is given to alumni or staff that demonstrate support to alumni and their community services activities. This year the certificates were given to Talbot Hall staff members Thomas Robinson, Shift Supervisor; Linda Rodgers-Cromer, Unit Manager; Kirk Francis, Unit Supervisor; and Raymond Polk, Unit Supervisor.

“I am proud to acknowledge these supporters of the Alumni Association who continue the tradition of helping residents through the reentry process,” said Arthur Townes, Director of the Alumni Association. “We stand together as living examples that living drug and crime free is possible. All these recipients are role models for our residents.”

The Abdus Salaam Logan Certificates of Recognition were created in memory of Abdus Salaam Logan, a former director of the Alumni Association, who helped change countless lives of ex-offenders and was a strong supporter employment and education for program graduates.

The Alumni Association consists of former participants of CEC reentry programs and represents the aftercare component of the continuum-of-care treatment model. Alumni serve as resources for those transitioning into society and provide help with needed information on housing, employment and continued substance abuse treatment.

Community service is an important function of the Alumni and is utilized as a tool for social reintegration. Members take pride in being role models for change and volunteer at crime/drug prevention talks, community clean-ups, public speaking engagements, and mentoring opportunities.

Community Education Centers, Inc. (CEC) is the leading provider of offender reentry and in-prison treatment services in America, operating in 17 states and the Commonwealth of Bermuda. CEC provides a full range of therapeutic residential and non-residential reentry services with a documented record of reducing recidivism.
